Hello! I am Natalie Paul, Designer and Business Ballerina behind the brand Bailarose. I am a former dancer who learned to sew ribbons on my pointe shoes and sequins on my costumes at a young age. The brand name Bailarose is a blend of the Spanish verb Baila (to dance) with my daughter’s name Rose. I grew up in metro Detroit and after graduating from the University of Michigan’s School of Music, Theater, and Dance, I moved to New York City where I got my start working in arts administration at the iconic Joyce Theater.

In 2008, I launched my first brand, selling my designs at Henri Bendel in New York and through global e-commerce. My collection was featured in Elle, Glamour, Teen Vogue, and Cosmopolitan magazine as well as on the hit tv series Gossip Girl. After living and working in New York for 5 years, I returned home to Michigan with my husband and now two children.

Fast forward a decade later, I decided to dust off my sewing machine and get back to my true calling as a designer. The result is an accessory collection that is both romantic and modern. Inspired by ballerinas, the designs balance strength and grace with a mix of heavy metals, soft silks, freshwater pearls, and crystals. The designs have a story to tell and are one-of-a-kind, just like any great ballet performance.

Everything in the collection is crafted by hand using sustainable fashion practices. I’ve incorporated vintage materials into my designs, mixing the nostalgic with the new. The modern materials are responsibly sourced from women business owners in small quantities with a focus on quality.

I believe in a long life for fashion and hope my designs will be loved for many years.
